    • Former Corvette test driver Jim Mero leaks Nurburgring laptimes for C7 ZR1, C7 Z06, C6 ZR1, C6 Z06, etc.

We all saw the C7 Corvette ZR1 testing on the Nurburgring but GM never released an official laptime. Maybe they did not hit their target or they just wanted internal testing numbers but their former test driver Jim Mero kept track of his laptimes and released them.

      Here are the laptimes:

      • 7:33 C7 Corvette Stingray Z51 (S)
      • 7:27 C7 Corvette Grand Sport
      • 7:26 C6 2009 Corvette ZR1
      • 7:22 C6 2012 Corvette Z06
      • 7:19 C6 2012 Corvette ZR1
      • 7:10 C7 Corvette Z06
      • 6:57 C7 Corvette ZR1 (S)

What does (S) mean? Segment time. That means the quickest segments are usually added up to provide a potential laptime. So, while the C7 ZR1 could dip under 7 minutes, it never did officially.

Jim Mero released these times no doubt to garner attention for his new venture Jim Mero Vehicle Dynamics where he is doing programming for magnetic ride control suspension systems. In other words, suspension tuning.
